Type I<\/span><\/td>\n\n

  • Most common ductless fume hood & is mainly for chemical hazards<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Used for experiments (clinical or educational) \u2013 those that use strong chemical reagents like staining, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Filter \u2013 Activated carbon (or) application-specific filter<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Not to use for dangerous chemical hazards \u2013 no detection mechanism<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Type II<\/span><\/td>\n\n

  • Also known as ductless fume cupboard<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Used for chemicals that are approved by manufacturer –\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Has a chemical detection mechanism \u2013 can identify chemical permeates<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Works with the HEPA filters<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Type III<\/span><\/td>\n\n

  • Type II ductless fume hood with a backup filter installed<\/span><\/li>\n
  • They\u2019re best for chemical reagents that are not only hazardous to personnel but also environment<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Backup filters work with detection mechanism<\/span><\/li>\n
